Home > Best Time to Visit

Though Nepal can be visited round the year, the best time to visit is autumn (Oct-Dec) and spring (March-April). With the termination of Monsoon Season the weather of Nepal gets clearer and the views spectacular. September marks the ends of monsoon season in Nepal so October and November are the autumn season and is the best time to visit the country. Nepal has four distinct seasons. During monsoon also summer trekking in the trans-Himalayan regions of Mustang, Dolpo and Tibet is possible as these regions are less affected by rainfall.

Spring lasts from March to May, and is warm with rain showers and temperatures around 22°C.

Summer, from June to August, is the monsoon season when the hills turn lush and green. Temperatures can get quite warm, up to 30°C and more during heat waves.

Autumn, from September to November, is cold with clear skies and is the most popular season for trekking. Temperatures are not too warm, with daily maxima about 25°C and cool nights with minima of 10°C.

Winter, from December to January weather is colder and the sky is clear with occasional snowfalls at higher elevations. This season is good for trekking in lower elevations. Mornings and nights are colder but days warmer when sunny
