clothing equipments and personal effects
Clothes for short trekking and tours:
It is better to be wrapped up in layers of clothes
in the mountain as you are swinging in the
mountains.
Warm
underwear and socks, maybe divided into daily packs.
T-shirts and
flannel shirts, high neck sweaters.
Two pair of
trousers and a pair of shorts.
Wind-proof
jacket and rainproof during rainy season, and gaiters.
Sturdy hiking
boots, a pair of flip-flops to use in low altitude and
in inns and lodges.
A couple of
towels.
For Longer
trekking:
Light
backpack suitable for hiking
Quality
sleeping bag
Light / weight walking boots. If new one is being
bought, walk then into avoid blisters.
Warm jacket, fiberfill or down should be adequate
A rainproof with hoot or poncho.
A pair of light / weight trousers
Windproof and waterproof trousers are necessary on all
the treks.
A tracksuit useful for wearing in camp and in the tents.
2 pair of cotton T-shirts and a pair of sandals
1 Light / weight long sleeved-shirt is particularly
suitable for avoiding sunburn
Pair of gloves, leather with lining and woolen is the
best.
4 pairs of thin and 4 pairs of thick woolen socks.
Snow glasses and sunglass and sun cream
2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from
dirty ones. 6-10 smaller plastic bags to dispose garbage
Water bottle necessary 2 litter is the best
Small headlamp and or torch with spare batteries and
bulbs.
Toiletries with large and smaller towels
The equipment require for the outdoor activities can be
purchase in Kathmandu at very cheap but not so reliable.
You can find some gears that will serve you for the
purpose. However, if you are not used to with alien
stuffs better you equip yourself at home if the space
demands of luggage is not so high. Here are the
checklist that basically require for all the people who
loves out-door activities.
Don't overload your backpacks (even though you will
carry your daily pack and the porters will carry your
larger packs), because it will be difficult to remain
clean during the treks, and you don't get showers very
often!!
Medicines and food/drinks:
Remember that your body is going undergo varied ways and
intensity, many changes of conditions. Hence, altitude
sickness is unwelcome. Our guides are experienced in
first aid, there are many hospitals along the treks and
many rescue associations are always ready to take
action. Perhaps you might want to take your own little
medical kit :
Disinfectants, gauzes and bandages.
Anti-diarrhea and anti-headache medicines.
Ointments for
muscular and articulate pains.
Many of the villages will have little shops and lodges,
where you can by drinks and food for your treks; you
should always carry a bottle of mineral water with you,
and maybe some chocolate bars, for carbohydrates and
energy. Of course, you could bring the snacks you
preferred. You will need them!!
Equipment:
Depending on the choice of your journey, you could need
many things: we can provide crampons and ropes for
climbing, tents for camping, but you will need your
sleeping bag, preferably warm and with a hood: Remember
it is cold at night in the thin air mountains!
