Trip Overview:

Tiji Festival Tour is a package tour that provides both trek and tour to the traveler. This package begins with the sightseeing of Kathmandu city, and ends with the trek to the Upper Mustang (Lo Manthang). Tiji Festival also called as Tenchi Festival is celebrated for three days in the Upper Mustang (Lo Manthang). Tiji festival is also known as “The chasing of demons”. It is believed that once there was a deity named Dorje Jono whose father was a demon so his father (the demon) provoked chaos by creating water shortage problem which was a great threat for the people living there due to its geography. Then Dorje Jono battled against his father defeated him and exiled him from there. Since then the Tiji Festival is celebrated to summon the ferocious Dorje Jono to protect the village from every hindrance. 
We invite all the people around the globe to discover the remote and isolated region of Nepalese Himalayas, Tibetan culture along with the urban area of Kathmandu city. The Tiji Festival Tour will provide you with the opportunity to unlock the culture of people living in Himalayas of Nepal.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
After your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will later transfer you to the hotel. After hotel check in you can decide whether you would like to have a relaxing rest at the hotel or hang around the streets of Kathmandu (If you have leisure time). You will be briefed about our next day’s travel plan by our company representative. O/N you stay at the hotel. 

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing 
Tiji Festival Tour includes a guided city tour where you get to discover several historical, cultural and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu. You will be seeing the world heritage sites like historical Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of lord Pashupatinath, Buddhist pilgrimage Swoyambhunath (famous by the name of Monkey temple among tourists) and Boudhanath Shrine.  You will be amazed to see the culture, tradition and lifestyle of people living in Kathmandu valley. After a full day seeing tour, you will be dropped back to the hotel where you rest for the night.

Day 03: Drive (Kathmandu to Pokhara)
Today after breakfast you will drive to the Pokhara by Tourist bus which will take about 5-6 hours and rest at the hotel of Pokhara for next day activities.

Day 04: Fly (Pokhara to Jomsom)
On the fourth day of Tiji Festival Tour, early in the morning you will take flight of Jomsom from Pokhara. It will take about 15 minutes, have breakfast at Jomsom and will start trek to Kagbeni (2800m) from Jomsom (2720m) for about 3-4 hrs and overnight at Kagbeni.

Day 05: Trek (Kagbeni-Tsaile)
Today you will start our trek to Tsaile (3050m) from Kagbeni for about 5-6 hrs and stay at Tsaile for night.

Day 06: Trek (Tsaile-Ghiling)
After your breakfast we will trek to Ghiling (3570) for about 6-7 hours and stay at Ghiling for that day.

Day 07: Trek (Ghiling-Drakmar)
Enjoying the Tiji Festival Tour, today you will trek to Drakmar (3820) from Ghiling after your breakfast which will take about 5-6 hrs and stay at Drakmar for that day.

Day 08: Trek (Drakmar-Lo-Manthang)
Today you will head towards our final destination so trek to Lo-Manthang (3810m) and trek about 7-8 hrs. You will rest at Lo-Manthang and get ready for next day program.

Day 09: Observe 1st day of Tiji Festival
On the ninth day of Tiji Festival Tour, after breakfast you will have short walk around the wall city Lo-Manthang, discover the lifestyle of people living there and at the evening you will observe and participate in the 1st day of tiji festival. At evening you will get back to the hotel or lodge and rest there for night.

Day 10: Observe 2nd day of Tiji Festival
After breakfast you will visit choser cave and monastery which will take about 2 hrs after returning to lodge you will get ready to observe and participate in 2nd day of Tiji Festival. At evening you will return back to the lodge and have rest.

Day 11: Observe 3rd day of Tiji Festival
Enjoying the Tiji Festival Tour, after breakfast you will roam around the wall city Lo-Manthang and get dfascinated by its landscape culture and hospitality. Then return in lodge for the lunch ater lunch you will observe the final day of Tiji Festival and get back to the lodge at the evening and spent overnight at the same lodge.

Day 12: Trek (Lo-Manthang-Tsarang)
Today after breakfast you will trek back to Tsarang (3560m) from Lo-Manthang which will take about 3-4 hrs. At the evening you will visit 800 years old red Tsarang Monastry. You will stay overnight at lodge in Tsarang.

Day 13: Trek (Tsarnag-Syangmochen)
You will trek to Syangmochen (3880m) from Tsarang for about 6-7 hrs after your breakfast and rest at the lodge in Syangmochen. 

Day 14: Trek (Syangmochen-Chhusang)
Continuing the Tiji Festival Tour, today you will trek to Chhusang(2980m) from Syangmochan for about 6-7 hrs and stay at the lodge of Chhusang for the night.

Day 15: Trek (Chhusang-Jomsom)
This will be the final trek of your trip which include trek from Chhusang to Jomsom (2720m) which will take about 6-7 hrs. You will stay at the lodge of Jomsom.

Day 16: Fly (Jomsom-Pokhara)
Today you will fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. Then you will be dropped at the hotel in Pokhara, you can have rest the whole day or hang around the city of Pokhara.

Day 17: Drive (Pokhara-Kathmandu)
After your breakfast you will drive back to Kathmandu which will take about 6-7 hrs. Then you will be transferred to the hotel at Kathmandu. You will be joining a special farewell dinner in a cozy traditional Nepali restaurant hosted by Breakfree Adventure and its team in the evening. Overnight, you stay at the hotel. 

Day 18: Transfer to airport for your onward destination. 
Your festival trip to the majestic country of Nepal comes to an end today! You will be escorted by one of the representatives to the international terminal of Kathmandu airport approximately three hours before your flight schedule. We exchange our last good-byes and now you will be leaving Nepal with all the good memories you had during the Nepal Tiji Festival Tour. We hope you had a lovely time with us. The tour cost depends upon the category of hotels used and as per the group-size. Normally we use government approved 3 star and above hotels. Please contact us for the trip pricing.
