Rara
National Park lies in the remote area
& far-west region of Nepal, it still
hosts the country’s biggest lake “the
Rara lake”, has successful to protect a
representative rhododendron, black
juniper, west Himalayan cypress are sample
of flora and fauna. Mainly covered with
coniferous forest, the park’s area
around the lake dominated by blue pine.
You can see the forests of pine, spruce
and fir; it gives way to fir, oak, and
birch forest. You can also enjoy with
seeing the sight of migrant birds like
waterfowls, gallinaceous birds, in the
park. This rich vegetation is the habitat
of endangered red panda, musk deer,
Himalayan black bear, leopard, jackal,
Himalayan tahr, wild yellow – throated
marten, wild dog, wild boar, rhesus
macaque and more. In the heart of the park, both
physically and metamorphic ally is The
Rara lake. The lake is oval shaped with an
east-west axis.
Apart
from the eye catching beautiful sight of
Rara Lake, the park also offers a pleasant
setting for bird lover; beauty to the
landscape is the hundreds of varieties of
ground flowers that form a colorful carpet
in summer.
The
region is made-up of long ridges covered
with temperate forests and alpine pastures
enclosing high valleys. Summer rainfall is
low, but winter snow can be heavy and
persistent. Since the region is fairly
high and free from monsoon thunderstorms,
the summer season is ideal for trekking.
Winters are cold, but the autumn seasons
trekking is rewarded with a profusion of
alpine flowers.
