Trip Overview:

Mani Rimdu Festival Tour is a package tour that offers you with the opportunity to explore the culture of Himalayan people (Sherpa, Lama) and also the panoramic view of the Mt. Everest. The festival Mani Rimdu is the crucial festival of Sherpa which is celebrated at Tengboche Monastry. The festival lasts for 19 days which concludes with three days public festival and falls on October-November (tenth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar). Mani means “part of the chant of Chenrezig” and Rimdu means small red pills that are distributed to all those who attend. The festival starts by drawing Mandala with colored sand which takes 4 days to draw. The festivities includes sixteen dance numbers, the blessing offered to the general public by the resident Tengboche Rinpoche of the monastery and the Mask Dances which are performed by the Monks.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
After your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will later transfer you to the hotel. After hotel check in you can decide whether you would like to have a relaxing rest at the hotel or hang around the streets of Kathmandu (If you have leisure time). You will be briefed about our next day’s travel plan by our company representative. O/N you stay at the hotel. 

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing 
Mani Rimdu Festival Tour also includes a guided city tour where you get to discover several historical, cultural and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu. You will be seeing the world heritage sites like historical Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of lord Pashupatinath, Buddhist pilgrimage Swoyambhunath (famous by the name of Monkey temple among tourists) and Boudhanath Shrine.  You will be amazed to see the culture, tradition and lifestyle of people living in Kathmandu valley. After a full day sightseeing tour, you will be dropped back to the hotel where you rest for the night.

Day 03: Fly (Kathmandu-Lukla) and Trek ( Lukla-Phakding)
On the third day of Mani Rimdu Festival Tour, you will fly to Lukla early in the morning which will take about 30 minutes. There you will have your breakfast and start you first trek of the trip towards the Phakding (2652m) for about 3-4 hours and stay overnight at the lodge of Phakding.

Day 04: Trek (Phakding-Namche Bazaar)
Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) from Phakding for about 5-6 hours and accommodation at the lodge of Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar
Today is the rest day so that you can acclimatize for the next day. You can utilize this day at Namche Bazaar by visiting museum, local shop, Shyangboche airstrip. 

Day 06: Trek (Namche Bazaar – Tengboche)
Enjoying the Mani Rimdu Festival Tour, you will head towards your final destination by trekking from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867m) for about 4-5 hours and accommodate that day at the lodge of Tengboche.

Day 07: 1st day of Mani Rimdu Festival
Today is the 1st day of Mani Rimdu Festival during Mani Rimdu Festival Tour which includes prayers. You will observe all the activities of the festival throughout the day and return back to lodge at the evening.

Day 08: 2nd day of Mani Rimdu Festival
The second day of the festival is dedicated to colorful Lama dancing wearing brocade gown. Today you will attend the festival and enjoy the festival during the day and return to lodge at the evening.

Day 09: 3rd day of Mani Rimdu Festival
Final day of Mani Rimdu Festival during Mani Rimdu Festival Tour includes the some humorous dances and chanting prayers. You will attend the festival and enjoy it with the local people. At evening you will return to the lodge. This marks the end of the Mani Rimdu Festival so the next day you will trek back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 10: Trek (Tengboche - Namche Bazaar)
After the termination of Mani Rimdu Festival you will trek back to Namche-Bazaar from Tengboche which will takes about 4-5 hours. You will stay at lodge in Namche for overnight.

Day 11: Trek (Namche Bazaar- Lukla)
Continuing the Mani Rimdu Festival Tour, today we will trek for about 6-7 hours from Namche-Bazaar to Lukla from where you will take flight to Kathmandu the following day. You will accommodate at the lodge of Lukla for the night.

Day 12: Fly (Lukla – Kathmandu)
Today early in the morning you will fly back to Kathmandu and will be transferred back to the hotel. You will have leisure time for buying gifts and other stuffs. At evening you will be joining a special farewell dinner in a cozy traditional Nepali restaurant hosted by Breakfree Adventure and its team in the evening. Overnight, you stay at the hotel. 

Day 13: Transfer to airport for your onward destination. 
Your festival trip to the majestic country of Nepal comes to an end today! You will be escorted by one of the representatives to the international terminal of Kathmandu airport approximately three hours before your flight schedule. We exchange our last good-byes and now you will be leaving Nepal with all the good memories you had during the Nepal Mani Rimdu Festival Tour. We hope you had a lovely time with us.
