Trip Overview:

Gosaikunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal's Langtang National Park, located at an altitude of 4,380 m (14,370 ft) in the Rasuwa District. The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site for Hindus and Buddhist. Gosaikunda is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul (holy Trident) into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed poison. Gosainkunda Lake Trek offers panoramic scenery of Mt. Langtang range, Himal Chuli 7893m, Mt. Manaslu 8156m and Ganesh Himal range. Gosainkunda Lake Trek is one of the best trekking trails in Langtang Himalayan ranges. The trail gains elevation as you make your way along the Langtang Khola, first through forests of oak and rhododendron and then bamboo forests on the higher reaches of the trail.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
After your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will later transfer you to the hotel. After hotel check in you can decide whether you would like to have a relaxing rest at the hotel or hang around the streets of Kathmandu (If you have leisure time). You will be briefed about our next day’s travel plan by our company representative. O/N you stay at the hotel. 

Day 02: Drive to Dhunche (1960m) for 6-7 hrs
Commencing the Gosainkunda Lake Trek, after early breakfast we drive for Dhunche (1960m) along the river trishuli enjoying the amazing rivers, forest and terraced fileds. 6-7 hours drive till we reach Dhunche which is also the district headquarters of Rasuwa district and headquarter of "Langtang national park" as well. Overnight at Dhunche.

Day 03: Trek to Sing Gompa (3335m) for 4-5 hrs 
Today our actual trek begins for Sing Gompa (3335m) after breakfast. We follow gradual uphill trail along the bamboo & Oak forest, pass the village of Deurali and Dimsa and reach Sing Gompa after the walk of 4-5 hours which offers the picturesque view of Langtang Himalayan ranges.Overnight at Sing Gompa.

Day 04: Trek to Gosainkunda (4380m) for 5-6 hrs
Today on passing the village of Chandanbari (3,330m) and Cholangpati (3,654m) along the gradual up trail enjoyong the Gosainkunda Lake Trek, we trek to Laurebina (3,910m). Chandanbari has a cheese factory. From the Laurebina, our trail leads us steep up for about 2 hours to reach to Gosainkunda (4,380m). Gosainkunda houses many sacred holy lakes. It is perhaps the best place to admire the charming view of Langtang and Ganesh Himalayan ranges. Overnight at Gosainkunda.

Day 05: Trek to Ghopte (3530m) for 7-8 hrs
On the fifth day of Gosainkunda Lake Trek, after the inviting breakfast we will descend our trek for 7-8 hours to Ghopte (3530m) passing through Laurebina pass (4610m). Overnight at Ghopte.

Day 06: Trek to Kutumsang (2470m) for 5-6 hrs
Relishing the Gosainkunda Lake Trek, today we make another pass of Thadepati (3,690m) and purse along the downhill trail for the whole journey and pass through the lush green village and reach Kutumsang village (2470m). Our trek is carried out for 5-6 hours. Overnight at Kutumsang.

Day 07: Trek to Chisapani (2215m) for 4-5 hours
With the descending trail we pursue our trek for Chisapani (2215m) for about 4-5 hours encountering the lush green forest of oak and rhododendron. Chisapani is an amazing hill station popularly known for spectacular sunrise view and natural habitat. Overnight at Chisapani.

Day 08: Trek to Sundarijal for 4 hrs and drive to Kathmandu 40 min drive
After breakfast, we make about 4 hours downhill trek to Sundarijal. Along the dense forest of Shivapuri national park, we enjoy the scenic beauty of nature. On arrival in Sundarijal, drive back to Kathmandu and shift to your hotel.

Day 09: Departure
Your Gosainkunda Lake Trek terminates today. You will be escorted to airport by one of our representative and there we exchange our last good-byes. You will be traveling towards your further destination with all the memories you had during your tour. We hope you had a lovely time with us. The tour cost depends upon the category of hotels used and as per the group-size. Normally we use government approved 3 star and above hotels. Please contact us for the trip pricing.
