Buddha Jayanti Festival Tour is a package tour which benefits the visitor with the opportunity of discovering the birth place of Lord Buddha including sightseeing of Kathmandu city. Buddha Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Buddha who was born in the Lumbini. It falls on the Baishak month of Nepali calendar. The anniversary of the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death is celebrated on the full-moon day of Baishak at all the Buddhist Temples, but most visibly at Syambhu, where the freshly repainted stupa is decorated with thousands of lights the night before. Observances at the Buddha’s birthplace, Lumbini are rather sparse. There is a public holiday in whole country on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti. The date varies from year to year in the Western Gregorian calendar, but usually falls in April or May.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Buddha Jayanti Festival Tour begins after your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu where you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will later transfer you to the hotel. After hotel check in you can decide whether you would like to have a relaxing rest at the hotel or hang around the streets of Kathmandu (If you have leisure time). You will be briefed about our next day’s travel plan by our company representative. O/N you stay at the hotel. 

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing 
Today after breakfast we will organize a guided city tour where you get to discover several historical, cultural and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu. You will be seeing the world heritage sites like historical Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of lord Pashupatinath, Buddhist pilgrimage Swoyambhunath (famous by the name of Monkey temple among tourists) and Boudhanath Shrine.  You will be amazed to see the culture, tradition and lifestyle of people living in Kathmandu valley. After a full day seeing tour, you will be dropped back to the hotel where you rest for the night.

Day 03: Flight of Bhairahawa and drive to Lumbini
Continuing the Buddha Jayanti Festival Tour, after breakfast one of our representatives will drive you to the airport from and you will take flight of bhairahawa. There you will be greeted by our representative who will drop you to the Hotel at Lumbini. Today’s program will be the sightseeing of the famous world heritage site Lumbini, Buddha’s birthplace. In the evening you will be transferred back to the hotel and provided with brief description about next day program.

Day 04: Celebrating Buddha Jayanti
Today is the important day of Buddha Jayanti Festival Tour as you will celebrate Buddha Jayanti, after breakfast you will meet you guide in the hotel lobby and then you will drive you to the Lumbini. There you will observe a special program held at Mayadevi Temple and ritual dance performed by priests dressed as the five aspects of Buddhahood. The feeling of serenity and composure around the Lumbini will certainly allures to you visit again and again. After the celebration of Buddha Jayanti you will be dropped back to hotel at the evening and stay there overnight.

Day 05: Return to Kathmandu
Today after breakfast you will head to the Bhairahawa airport for your flight to Kathmandu. After you arrive at Kathmandu you will be brought back the hotel of Kathmandu. Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu which you can utilize to buy gifts or you can just roam around the city and discover more about the Kathmandu. In evening you will be joining your farewell dinner hosted by our company at traditional Nepali restaurants. Later you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 6: Departure
This terminates your Buddha Jayanti Festival Tour with us. You will be escorted by one of the representatives to the international terminal of Kathmandu airport approximately three hours before your flight schedule. We exchange our last good-byes and now you will be leaving Nepal with all the good memories you had during the Nepal Buddha Jayanti Festival Tour. We hope you had a lovely time with us.
